Copyright Theft and Illegal Selling of Digis.- Addition Added 28/02/2013

This post will remain at the top of my blog until further notice.  Please scroll down for cards.  Thank you.xx

Hi!

As many of you know there is a bit of a dispute going on between Heather Valentin and Sherri Baldy/Scrapbook Stamp Society.

In short, Heather Valentin was never provided (as per contract) with quarterly statements in spite of numerous requests.  After advice from her attorney who informed her that Sherri Baldy was in breach of the contract, Heather parted company with the SSS and set up her own business (Lacy Sunshine).

However, Sherri Baldy has continued to sell Heather Valentin digis and other products illegally for the past few months in spite of being told to remove the images.  In the last couple of days she has removed the digis from her Etsy store BUT they are still on the SSS site and several other places.  It is not only digis but items like fabric blocks and quilt kits as well.  These are ALL on sale illegally.

As well as that, a number of Heather's digis have been very closely copied.  The SSS dispute this and have made a number of, quite frankly, pathetic and desperate false accusations against Heather saying that Sherri Baldy did them first, or that she stole Tilly the dinosaur from The Flintstones...namely Dino the dinosaur (no similarity at all and Dino is not even based on a real dinosaur!).  Not only that, but Pickles the frog is, according to those at the SSS, in fact Bam Bam from The Flintstones in disguise!!!  Hmmmmm.  Pickles was born (alongside Eleanor) early last year.  The dinosaurs were not developed until late last year as she created Tilly (and a triceratops) for my son, Jamie.

Judge for yourself ...yes, Pickles is wearing an animal skin (they didn't have shops!) and yes, he's carrying a club...a well known caveman's weapon.  Other than that boy-frog, frog-boy!  Can't see the similarity myself.  Now Dino and Tilly.  Tilly is based on the brachiosaurus (a real dinosaur and a herbivore.  Dino, however, is NOT based on a real dinosaur but looks very much like a carnivore to me...claws, teeth etc.  My son (a serious expert in dinosaurs) has just given his opinion and said 'he looks alien to my eyes.  Never seen a dinosaur like that before.'

For more reading on this subject (and irrefutable proof of who copied who (and we've not even started on Ella & Pinkles yet!) please see the following links on Lacy Sunshine where you will see the copied artwork as a comparison:

Quite a few interesting comments on there too...and some I have made to add information.
 Take care everyone.

Addition 1:   Lots of emails are flying around and have been doing so for some time.  Lies are being told, threats, coercion, bullying, intimidation - all words I've been told describe their contents.  ANYONE who is telling the truth and who is open and above board does so publicly.  They do NOT sneak around using emails.  All our comments have been made on either this blog or the Lacy Sunshine blogThat way, people can read the facts, see the evidence and decide for themselves.  Sneaking around 'following' on their blog anyone who has anything as all to do with us is a form of intimidation.  Contacting people who have anything to do with us (even in the loosest sense) is a form of intimidation.  Decent, law abiding people are open.  They do not hide behind emails telling lies.  They do not harass people and bully them.  They do not make threats.  I apologise to anyone who has been targetted with these emails or are being harassed in any way.  Sadly, this is beyond our control and all I can do is to advise you to just ignore them.

Addition 2 (11/03/13) :  Have noticed that Sherri Baldy is now putting a copyright on her images dating the ones she's coming up with now (as it says in her posts - they're brand new) as 2012.  Very misleading fibs there.  Bit stupid really, when everyone can see what she's up to.  Hey ho...

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Girls, Girls, Girls!

Hi Folks!

Hope you're ok and that you've avoided the snow this week?  Linda Simpson is blaming me for the bad weather but can I help it if the weather Goddess likes spoiling me?  Lol.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge  and I reckon you'll love this theme, which is Girls, Girls, Girls!  As usual, the prize is £15 to spend in the Joanna Sheen Shop, which is a very easy thing to do!  I've just spent £30 on the site ordering the brand spanking new House Mouse Triple CD!  Everyone's really excited about that one.

Anyway, to create this card I have used Joanna Sheen's Daisy & Friends CD.

I've coloured the image using markers as follows:

Copics (skin) E00, E11 and E21
Promarkers:  Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Cool Aqua, Antique Pink, Baby Pink, Cool Greys 1, 3 and 5 and Blender.

I've used pink textured cardstock for the matting and flourishes.

The doily was from Poppyscabin.co.uk and the gorgeous carnations (which are actually dark pink but look red in the pic) were from Wild Orchid (link over on right).  The faux gems are from my stash.

I created the sentiment on my lappy.

And that's it...a simple little card in gorgeous pinks.  Hope you like it and feel inspired to head over to the Joanna Sheen Challenge to see what the rest of the B Team have been up to AND, of course, to enter the challenge.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Good luck.

Take care and happy crafting!

Lacy Sunshine DT Card for Challenge #8

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok?  I've been a bit quiet lately as I've had the right hump since coming back from The Lakes and I'm struggling to get my mojo back.  I'll get there, though.

Anyway...it's time for a new challenge over at Lacy Sunshine and the theme for this challenge is 'Anything But a Square,' so we want to see lots of cards which aren't square...it's that simple!  As always, the Winner (drawn by Random so everyone has a chance) is $30 worth of digis from the Lacy Sunshine Store and the Top Three each win two digis as well.  And there are some lovely new blinkies too!  Please make sure you read all the rules before entering, though, as a lot of people aren't following them which means they're not in the running for a prize which is a big shame as everyone puts such a lot of work into their entries.  The rules are few and easy so please check them out before entering.

My card for the challenge features a lovely new digi by Heather Valentin called Sasha Snow Leopard...because she's a snow leopard!  Lol.

And as you can see...it's definitely NOT a square!  Lol.

I've used a snowflake cutting file from Silhouette, removed all the little fiddly bits in the middle, welded a couple together and cut a spare to make the base...which is cut out of card printed with a Bearly Mine (link over on right) paper.  The white snowflake is the same cutting file in miniature.

I've coloured the image in using my Promarkers as follows:

Cool Grey 1, 3 and 5.
Marine.
Turquoise
Cool Aqua.
Antique Pink
Baby Pink.

I've glittered some snowflakes and the snowflake on Sasha's nos.

And that's it.  A very simple but cute and pretty card.

Hope you like it everyone.

Take care and happy crafting!

A Little Bit Crafty DT Card - Challenge #2

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the improved weather we're having here in the UK?  Obviously, if you're not in the UK then you won't be enjoying it, but hope you're weather's not too bad, lol.

Today is the start of Challenge #2 over at Paula Holifield's A Little Bit Crafty Challenge and the theme for this month is Kraft It.  The sponsors for this month's challenge are:

Sarah Hurley - TBA
Hobbycutz - £7:50 voucher
Clare Curd Crafts - £10 voucher

There is plenty of fabulous DT inspiration for you to have a look at to give you an idea of what Paula would like to see, so head over there now for a look.

And here's the card I've created for the challenge:

Because I love them so much and I just couldn't resist this digi, I've used the Boozy Brian digi from Lacy Sunshine's Gnomes of Gnarly Wood series.  Isn't he just so adorable?!    I've coloured him using my Promarkers but I don't have a list of the colours for you this time...sorry.

I've used Kraft card for the base and some of the matting layers, and red and blue core-dinations for the other layers.  It's just simple cutting and because I was making a blokies' card I didn't want it to be too precise so I've been random with my cutting rather than measuring out and I think it works quite nicely.  I've embossed the blue card with a dotty embossing folder and that's it...card done!

So, head off to Paula's blog and click on the blinky saying Current Challenge Here and you'll see all the information and more inspiration.

Good luck.

Take care and happy crafting.

The Gnarly Wood Darts Tournament.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and enjoying some sunshine at last.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge and the theme this time around is Monochrome.  The Sunshine Girls have had a lot of fun playing around with a whole new set of Gnomes of Gnarly Wood digis and these guys and gals have a sport theme.  So head over and take a look...once you've left a comment here, of course!  Lol.  Don't forget that the prize is $30 worth of digis from the Lacy Sunshine Store so well worth having a go as Heather has masses of fabulous digis up fro grabs.

Anyhoo...here's my card featuring a new character, Tipsy Timmy, and his friend Mooning Morris.

As you can see, there's a darts tournament being held at The Toadstool Arms and Tipsy Timmy is having a little warm up.  Unfortunately, Mooning Morris is too busy showing the flowers his new tattoo and isn't aware of the impending danger!

I had a lot of fun making this card.  Unfortunately, I had a bit of a blooper (such an amateur) and made a really stupid and avoidable error with my Spellbinder dies when cutting out...so I lost the top of the roof and chimney of the Gnarly Wood pub!  Oops!  I won't be making THAT mistake again!  Lol.

Anyway, I took the png images into my MCS software and set them out in the little scene and added some drop shadows before printing out and colouring with my Promarkers.  For this one I only used 5 markers and it was a lot of fun to do.  The Promarkers  I used are as follows:

Burnt Sienna
Cinnamon
Tan
Putty
Almond.

They work so beautifully together to create a sepia effect which is great for monochrome.

The backing paper is from Bearly Mine and the butterflies were cut using a Doohickey Butterfly die.

The brown card is Papermania Textured cardstock.  I have used Cheery Lynn Reflections Boutique Mega Mini Pearl Square (or something like that, lol) dies to cut out a matting layer for the image and the sentiment.

I've decorated the inside to match and that's it.  All the work is in the colouring which was an absolute pleasure to do.  Really loving playing with the Gnomes of Gnarly Wood.  They're just wonderful!  They even have their own page on the Lacy Sunshine Store which is here.

Hope you like my little scene and that it's brought a smile to your face.
Head over to the challenge to take a look and then get crafting so you can join in.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Emma's Crafty Challenge  where the theme is Butterflies.
http://bearlymine-challenges.blogspot.co.uk/  with the theme of 'Digi Days.'
Sarah Hurley Challenge  where the theme is to Use a Character.

Take care everyone.
Happy crafting!

Joanna Sheen DT Card - Recycle Something

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and busy crafting!

Well, today's the start of a new challenge over at The Joanna Sheen Challenge and this time around the theme is 'Recycle Something,' so we want to see projects where you have either recycled something or added something which has been recycled. There's a £15 voucher to spend on the Joanna Sheen site up for grabs, so well worth having a go and joining in.

I was really lucky this month as I was sent the gorgeous House Mouse 'Mice & Crafty - Sew Happy' stamp set to use and it's beautiful.

I have used Kraft Card (recycled), buttons from an old cardi, and the red card was the lining of a box.  Can't even remember what was originally in it now.

I've used the following Promarkers to colour this one:

Cardinal Red, Lipstick Red, Blush, Sandstone, Caramel, Ice Gre 1 & 3, Putty, Satin, Ivory, Capri Blue (LE).

I've just matted and layered the red and kraft card with some paper from a Me to You paper pad, and set the image and paper rectangle at jaunty angles (lol).

The sentiment was from a magazine on a printed out sheet.

The flowers were were cut using the large and medium Cheery Lynn Rose Dies and fixed together with gold brads from my stash.

I love this image...so cute.  And my Jamie adores it too as his favourite little House Mouse - Monica - is on it, getting up to mischief as usual.

Hope you pop over to The Joanna Sheen Challenge and join us in the challenge.  The DT always have fabulous inspiration for you and we love seeing all your projects.

Take care everyone & happy crafting!

Biker Bob Easel

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all well and having some good weather at last...it's a beautiful day here.  The sort of day I'd love for every day of the year.

Today's card features one of Heather Valentin's fab new Gnomes of Gnarly Wood digis which are only available (as for all of Heather's digis) legally from the Lacy Sunshine store.  Anyone else selling them is a thief and they are encouraging their customers to handle stolen goods.  Not nice at all that, is it!  Not nice and downright disgusting and immoral behaviour!

Anyway, I requested this digis specially and as soon as Jamie saw it he said 'it's Uncle Graham!' and yep, that's who I was thinking of when I asked Heather to come up with the digi.  Uncle Graham won't be seeing it for a few more weeks yet as it is his birthday card, and I know it's going to raise a titter from him when he opens it, lol.
So, here's Biker Bob!

This easel consists of a LOT of matting and layering.  The base card is made from Kraft card, and then there are three layers of Core'dinations on top of that...followed by a layer of Kanban paper.

For this card I have used Copics, Promarkers AND had my first go with Graph It markers...and I love them!  I bought the set of 12 Warm Greys as I knew they'd be useful even if I didn't particularly like the pens as the colours really complement those in the Promarker Warm Grey set.  But I'm so glad I bought them to try as they blend fabulously and I'm going to be buying more!

So, the colours I've used are as follows:

Copics (skin) E00, E11 and E21
Graph It's - entire Warm Grey range
Promarkers - all Warm Grey colours AND Baby Pink for his cheeks and tattoo.

Even the 'beige' bits on the bike are one of the Graph It Warm Greys set...perfect for the vintaged look.

I used Spellbinders dies for the embellies and that's that...a man's card for a hairy biker!  Perfick!  Uncle Graham's going to love it!  :o)

Hope you like Biker Bob.  The Gnomes of Gnarly Wood range will be growing and growing...they're such much fun to use and colour and I think they're going to add a lot of pleasure to everyone's crafting!

Take care everyone & happy crafting!

Mid Challenge Reminder over at A Little Bit Crafty.

Hi Folks!

hope you're all ok?  Well, I'm worse than a bus...few posts for ages and then I'm going to hit you with a few this week, lol.  I had been crafting but until the digis were released at the Lacy Sunshine  store, I couldn't post them so they've piled up.

Anyway, today's card is a DT card for A Little Bit Crafty as it's the mid challenge reminder.  The theme is Anything Goes and, for this challenge only, you can only enter once.  It's a brand new challenge ran by the fabby Paula Holifield so head on over there and take a look.

Lacy Sunshine is one of the sponsors for this month and I've used one of our (I can say 'our' as The Gnomes of Gnarly Wood were my idea...poor Heather, lol) fabulous digis which we have only just released.

This card features the digi called Mooning Morris who is from our new Gnomes of Gnarly Wood collection.

Ooh...it's a moonie!  Lol.  Yes, hands up...I apologise.  It was my idea to do a mooning gnome!  Lol.  I have given Heather lots more ideas as well, so watch this space.  :oD   Right now, there are a load of new Gnomes in the shop including one she's done of me on a Naughty Chair...as if!!  I'm a good girl, I am!  :oD

I've coloured Mooning Morris with the following markers:

Copics E00, E11 and E21 for the skin.
Hair:  Cool Grey 1 and blender
Red:  Crimson, Berry and Lipstick Red
Blue:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Soles of shoes:  Cool Grey 5, 3 and 1

I used Spellbinders dies to do the cutting work and to create an easel base...with a lot of help from my fabby Ebosser!

The paper is from a Me to You paper pad, and I've used that for the backing paper and the flowers, which were cut using Spellbinders Daisy Patch dies and finished with a faux gem.

The sentiment was created on my lappy.

A green bow from my stash finished it off.

Hope you like Mooning Morris...I love him and all his friends down at Gnarly Wood.  Expect to see them quite often (especially in the coming days) as they're my new favourites!

I've entered this card into the following challenge:

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

DT Card for Lacy Sunshine Challenge #6 - Spring Fever.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the slightly milder weather?

Today is the start of challenge #6 over at Lacy Sunshine and the theme this time is Spring Fever, so we really want to see anything with a spring theme or colours.  Simples!

As usual, the winner will receive $30 to spend at the Lacy Sunshine store.  So head over there, take a look at the rules and give it a go!  There is plenty of Sunshine Girls inspiration there too...and you'll get to see some brand new characters which are just being released today!  I haven't used one on this card but have made some projects using the new characters which I will be showcasing in the coming days...starting tomorrow!  I absolutely love, love, love them, especially as they were my idea, lol.  Heather's so good to me...even though she thinks I'm nuts!  :oD

Anyhoo, here's my card:

I've used Heather's incredibly gorgeous Flower Pot Pretties Cherri for this one and she is an absolute dream to colour and use.  There are a whole range of Flower Pot Pretties in the Lacy Sunshine store and they even have their own page on there...they're so cute!

I have coloured Cherri using the following markers:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21 and Baby Pink Promarker
Pink :  Baby Pink and Antique Pink
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Hair:  Caramel, Sandstone and Satin
Green:  Bright Green, Meadow Green
Container:  Ivory
Brown:  Walnut, Cocoa and Sandstone

The matting layer is green (doesn't really look it in the pic), metalic, textured cardstock and the backing paper is from Debbi Moore's Oriental CD, which I colourised to suit my colour scheme.  It has koi carp on but you can't really see that in my picture.

The sentiment was created on my lappy.

The flowers and faux pearls are from my stash.

Voila, a card with a spring theme!

Flower Pot Pretties - Holly

Hi Folks!

Firstly, I had a nice surprise the other day as the lovely Emma made me blog of the week on her fabulous Emma's Hints, Tips and Crafty Inspiration  so pop across and take a peep.  Thank you Emma...I've been so excited.xx

Hope you're all ok and keeping busy.  I certainly am.  Have lots going on at the moment but managed to get some crafting done...sadly not crafting I've been able to show you at the moment.  Watch this space, though, as Heather's coming up with some fabulous digis which we're all (the Sunshine Girls) going to be showcasing very soon.  I, for one, am really excited about them and can't wait until we can show them off.

In the meantime, I've finally got around to playing with one of Heather's fabulous Flower Pot Pretties Digis which she's been working on for the last few weeks.  I've elected to use Holly as she's so adorable and I need to crack on with some Christmas cards, though there are plenty of other adorable Flower Pot Pretties to choose from.  They are only available from the Lacy Sunshine  store, so head over and take a look.

Anyway...here's little Flower Pot Pretties Holly, isn't she a cutie?
Absolutely loving little Holly, especially as she's pretty quick to colour as well.

I've coloured her using a few copics and my Promarkers as listed below:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11, E21 and Promarker Baby Pink
Lips:  Baby Pink and Antique Pink
Hair:  Caramel, Sandstone and Satin
Eyes and other green areas:  Forest Green, Bright Green and Meadow Green
Reds:  Crimson, Berry Red and Lipstick Red
Yellows:  Gold and Pastel Yellow
Browns:  Walnut and Cocoa.

The papers I have used came from a  little pad which was free with one of the mags either last year or 2011.  Sorry..not much help there, lol.

The matting card is green Papermania Textured Cardstock.

The sentiment and gold metal holly leaves are from my stash.  And that's it.  A really quick an easy card.  When the artwork's as good as Heather Valentins, you really don't need or want to add more otherwise the beautiful artwork would be smothered.

Hope you like Holly and her friends as much as I do.  The Flower Pot Pretties have their own page on the Lacy Sunshine  store and more will be appearing soon.  They come in a set of both jpg AND png so that you can use them how you like including creating little scenes with them.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

A Little Bit Crafty DT Card - challenge #1

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and that you had a great weekend?

Well...it's a very exciting day in Craft Land, as today sees the start of a brand spanking new monthly challenge which is hosted by the lovely Paula Holifield  over on her own blog.  Most of you will know who Paula is, but for the few who don't, she is the Boss over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog...the lady who made it such a massive success last year which led to it being voted Crafty Blog of the Year!  Yay.  So the 'A Little Bit Crafty' Challenge is one that you need to add to your lists as it's going to be BIG!!

There are some fab sponsors involved with the blog, and for April the prizes on offer are:
£10 voucher - My Mum's Craft Shop
$20 voucher - Lacy Sunshine Stamps (Heather Valentin)
3 free digis - Creepie Cute Stamps

And the theme for the A Little Bit Crafty Challenge #1 is the fabulously popular Anything Goes.  So head over to A Little Bit Crafty, check out the rules, have a look at the DT cards for a little bit of inspiration and then join in the fun!

Anyhoo...here's my DT card for the challenge:

Well, as Heather Valentin's one of the sponsors, I obviously chose to use one of her fabulous Melancholy Moppet digs which are only available from Lacy Sunshine Stamps   The Melancholy Moppets are a new range of digis that Heather has created and this one is Anastasia with Daffodils.  The Moppets are so popular and I love working with them.  I'm sure you can see why!

I had a bit of fun with this one as I'd been wanting to colour mainly in Warm Greys for a while, and this was the perfect digi to have a play with, so I coloured the image as follows, using mainly Promarkers in very muted colours:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21
Hair:  Caramel, Sandstone and Satin
Lips:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Clothing and Hat:  Warm Grey 1, 3 and 5
Flowers:  Olive Green, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Raw Sienna, Oatmeal and Saffron

I'm really pleased with the results of this one, so I've given myself a very rare pat on the back!  :o)

I created the easel card on my Cameo using a Silhouette cutting file.  I welded two together and cut an extra doily for the top part of the easel...simples.  The circles were cut using my Spellbinder dies.

I've used Core'dinations card for both the easel base and the matting circles, and the paper on the base circle is from a Kanban kit and it matched the Warm Greys I'd used perfectly.

The flowers are from my stash and I can't remember where I got them from.  :o(

So...hope you like my card.  Head on over to A Little Bit Crafty, take a look at the other DT members' fab probjects and go lock yourself in your little crafty space and give it a go!  Good luck.

Take care and happy crafting!

DT Card - Lacy Sunshine Challenge #5

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and having lots of fun crafting?  Been busy again at my end but one day I'll manage to get organised and have more time for blogging and commenting.

Anyway, today is the start of our 5th challenge over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog and the theme for this week is the ultra popular ANYTHING GOES!  Yay.  So we're hoping for lots of lovely entries.  As always, the prize is a $30 voucher to spend at the Lacy Sunshine Store, so head over to the challenge, have a look through the rules and information, take some inspiration from the fabulous Sunshine Girls DT cards and get crafting!

And here's my card for this challenge:

My card features the brand new Wanda digi which is called Wanda's First Spring and is ONLY available from Heather's Lacy Sunshine store.  If you see Heather Valentin digis for sale anywhere else apart from there or her new Etsy store, then the seller has no authorisation to sell them.  They are breaking the law and are criminals.

Anyway, Wanda is well chuffed in this digi as it's her first spring and she's loving it after the long, cold ice age winter.  And isn't she gorgeous?  Aawwwwww.

I've coloured the image using my promarkers as follows:

Wanda:  Shale, Walnut, Cocoa and Cinnamon.
Tusks:  Putty
Flowers:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink
Leaves:  Forest Green and Bright Green
Ground Shadow:  Putty
Outline:  Cool Grey 1

The backing paper is from Bearly Mine (link over on right) and I did all the cutting on my Cameo using Penny Duncan cutting files.

The flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid and the pink brads are from my stash.

And that's it...a pretty card where the artwork and papers do all the talking.  Hope you like it.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Come Rain or Shine - Joanna Sheen Challenge DT Card

Hi Folks!

Sorry...totally confused on my days and could have sworn it was Saturday!!!!  Oops.

Here is my DT card for the new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge.  The theme for this one is Come Rain or Shine which means we want to see your weather orientated projects.  If you enter the challenge using a Joanna Sheen image then you are entered into the draw twice, and the prize is a £15 voucher to spend at the Joanna Sheen store...a fabulous prize.  So click on the link above and go and have a look at the fabulous inspiration by the DT.

And here's my card:

Joanna and the team very kindly sent me the gorgeous House Mouse Designs - Autumn Leaves stamp set to use for this one.  Aren't those little guys just adorable?  My Jamie adores little Monica who is the little, tiny grey mousie over on the right.

I've coloured the image using my Promarkers (really disorganised and didn't list them, sorry), then I cut the image out.

Using my MCS software, I used a digi kit from Just So Scrappy (link over on right) called Autumn Days for the papers.   I then did lots of cutting and matting and layering (using the three corresponding papers)and lay them out in one huge square (well...not THAT huge) and four little (faux matted and layered) squares.  Inside is decorated to match.

I have matted and layered the image in the same way and stuck it on, using foam pads for height, at a jaunty angle.

The sentiment was created in my MCS software too, and the leaves were cut from the papers using my Spellbinders Bella Rosa dies.

So head over to the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and join us in a bit of crafty fun!

Take care and happy crafting!

Melancholy Moppet Adelaide #2

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and that you're not having too hard a time with the weather.  Bit windy here but the sun's out.

This card features Heather Valentins' gorgeous Adelaide - this time in blue as opposed to the pink one on my last card and on my blog skin and banner.  The pink one is available now as a pre coloured digi over at the Lacy Sunshine store but the blue one's not available as yet.

I've coloured Adelaide using my promarkers as follows:

Hair:  Caramel, Sandstone and Satin.
Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21
Eyes (and blue):  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua.
Lips:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink.
Shading on White:  Cool Grey 1and Blender.
Shadow on ground:  Putty.

I have taken the png of Adelaide into my MCS software and placed the digi onto a background from the MCS Victorian Follies CD, then I've added a drop shadow around the image to make her stand out from the background.  Then I've printed it off and coloured the digi image as above.

The other backing papers are the same background but with the opacity taken lower so they are more faded.

The base is just a 6 x 6 (approx) square card with the front creased and folded down the centre to form an easel base.

All the layers have been matted onto blue metallic textured cardstock and cut using Cheery Lynn's Reflection Boutique Mega squares with mini pearl edges.  Bit fiddly to use and get right but it becomes easier with practice.

The flowers are the same cardstock cut using Cheery Lynn's Large and Medium Rose dies which have been kept together with gold brads from my stash.

The stopper is cut from the same card using the Cheery Lynn die as in the matting layers.

The sentiment reads 'Happy Hauntings and Pleasant Dreams' and is a quote by Peter James.  Don't tell him, but I don't have a clue who he is!  Sssshhhhh!

You can see from the picture how I've laid the card out so no explanation needed there.

To finish off I've added some lovely blue faux gems...and voila...done and dusted!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Are you Feeling a Little Bit Crafty?

Morning Folks!

Hope you're all well on this sunny but frosty morning?

No card today BUT I do have a great bit of news for you.  http://paulaholifieldcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ (of the Joanna Sheen Challenge fame) is starting a brand spanking new monthly challenge called 'A Little Bit Crafty.'  As many of you know, thanks to Paula (with the help of the lovely Jane) played a huge part in making the http://joannasheenchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ into such a huge success that it won the position of Craft Blog of the Year!  Yay.  So Paula knows what she's doing - and she has a brilliant DT behind her!  And, because she's so lovely, she's even taken me on out of sympathy!!!

Anyway, the A Little Bit Crafty challenge will be starting on April 1st (no fooling!) and will run from Paula's blog.  There are some fabulous sponsors and it's going to be a lot of fun so we'd all love it if you could join in!  So put the date in your diary and make sure you add it to your challenge list.

Don't forget to spread the news...the more the merrier.

Take care and have a wonderful, crafty day.

Lacy Sunshine Challenge #4 DT Card

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all doing ok?  All well at this end, just extremely busy as I'm working on so many projects...not all craft related.  I'm going to be making and blogging less cards for a while, but will post some coloured images which will be made into cards at a later date.

And sorry...I'm absolutely rubbish at keeping up with the comments.  If you would like me to try and keep up with your blog, join the Lacy Sunshine Facebook group and post them on there so I don't miss them, otherwise it's going to be seriously hit and miss.  We welcome all sorts of images on there (excluding Sherri Baldy images) so just feel free to join and show us your cards and other projects.    Also, I am unable to comment on every post you make but will do as much as I can...some of you are posting 2 or 3 times a day and I hate missing your cards but it's just impossible to look at and comment on them all...so please forgive me!  :o)

Anyhoo...today is the start of Challenge #4 over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge and we have a fabulous theme this week which is 'Layer it Up!'  So you can use any digi (those using a Heather Valentin digi will be entered into the Random draw twice for each entry) apart from a Sherri Baldy image, but we want to see lots of lovely layers on your projects.  So it's a nice easy, fun one.

The winner (drawn by Random.Org) will receive a blinky and $30 to spend at the Lacy Sunshine Store.  The top three (picked by a member of the DT) will each receive a blinky and two digis of their choice from the store (excluding retiring or pre coloured).  Also, if you put GDT or GCT (Guest Creative Designer) after your name when you enter, someone will win a guest spot with the Sunshine Girls!

Heather Valentin (the boss!) recently released some fabulous new characters in the store.  They are so beautiful and are called 'Melancholy Moppets' and have a really old, sad and neglected Victorian feel to them.  They are stunning and can be used in so many ways and coloured in so many styles.  They're proving a big hit and there will be new digis added to the collection in the future...and several more added this weekend!  The Sunshine Girls have used Melancholy Moppets on their cards this week and everyone has had a lot of fun with them.  The Melancholy Moppets have their own page at the Lacy Sunshine store and Heather is adding thumbnails to all the digis so that you can see sample cards made using the digis to help you imagine how they'll look on your cards.  She's started off with the Melancholy Moppets so head over and have a look and you'll see the fabulous samples by the Sunshine Girls.  Also, if you visit the Lacy Sunshine blog you will find a video Heather has made to show off more Sunshine Girl samples featuring the Melancholy Moppets...the video is here

So...here's my card featuring Lacy Sunshine Stamp's adorable Adelaide...

I absolutely love, love, love this little Moppet...she's so pretty and cute and I've coloured her several times now because she's so rewarding.  She's also very easy to colour so if you've not coloured much before, she's a great one to start with.

I've used Promarkers and three Copics to colour her as follows:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21  and Promarker Baby Pink.
Hair:  Caramel, Sandstone and Satin.
Shading on white clothing:  Cool Grey 1 & 3 and Blender.
Pink clothing: Antique Pink & Baby Pink.
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua.
Lips:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink.

I created the sentiment on my lappy and it's a quote from Edgar Allan Poe and reads:

'Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?'

The papers I have used are from Bearly Mine (link in right sidebar) and are from the Love Dreams set, which is very useful to have.  These have been matted onto pink card from my stash and have been layed out in my favourite (at present) layout.

The flowers have been cut out of the matting card using Cheery Lynn's Medium Rose die and fixed together with some silver, heart shaped brads from my stash.  That's it.  The artwork is so fabulous and the papers and layout so decorative that it really doesn't need any further embellishing.

The card base is a 6 x 6 scalloped edged, and the inside has been decorated to match the front.

Really hope you come over to join us in the Lacy Sunshine Challenge this fortnight.  We accept email entries as well, so no problem if you don't have a blog.  So head over to the challenge, have a look at the fabulous Creative Team inspiration and get crafting!

Pickles Fishin'

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok? Busy, busy, busy at this end still, but managed to get a quick card done for my poor old blog today.

And it IS a quickie!

I decided that a Fishin' Pickles isn't just for mens' cards so I've made this one for a girlie who likes fishing...just like I used to when I was little.

I coloured Pickles using my Promarkers as follows:

Promarkers used:

Pickles: Emerald, Apple and Meadow Green
Eyes: Cool Aqua and Cool Grey 1
Tongue: Antique Pink and Baby Pink
Outfit: Soft Green, Grey Green and Tea Green
Lily Leaf: Pine, Lush Green, Emerald and Meadow Green
Water: Cool Aqua and Blender.
Fish: Cool Grey 1 and 3, Antique Pink and Baby Pink.

I've used backing papers from Just So Scrappy's I Toadily Love You digikit and used my Spellbinders dies to cut out the matting and layering for the topper image.

The ribbon is from my stash, as are the brads (ran out of big pink ones!). The charm was from Ebay and the flowers from Wild Orchid.

The image, of course, is by Heather Valentin and is only available from her Lacy Sunshine store. Anyone else selling Heather Valentin digs (also under Valentin Heather or HV) is doing so illegally and is basically nothing but an out and out thief and a disgrace to the crafting community.

Take care everyone & happy crafting!

Maddie - Hobo Clown Card.

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and keeping well and safe?  Sorry I've been a bit quiet on here but we (me and Heather) have been so busy lately and I've been making projects that I'm not able to post just yet.  You'll be seeing them in the coming days, though, so watch this space!

Also, I'd like to say welcome to all my new followers and thank you to my regulars.  Sorry I'm not managing to keep up with everyone's blogs but I'm trying hard to comment as much as I possibly can.  So many people are blogging several times a day which does make it impossible to comment as much as I'd like, so please forgive me.  Shall comment as much as I can but I won't be able to comment on every blog entry you make or I'd never get my own crafting done.  I'm sure you'll understand.

Today's card is a real little cutie made using Heather's fabulous Maddie - Hobo Clown digi which is only available from Lacy Sunshine.  Anyone else selling Heather's digis is doing so illegally.  They are a disgrace and are breaking the law and all demands to take them down from their site.  They are selling digis to people who are also, unknowingly, breaking the law by buying them.  So not only are they stealing from Heather but also turning decent, innocent people into handlers of stolen goods!  Shame on them!  I don't know how they can live with themselves to be honest.

Anyway...here is today's card:

How cute and simple is this?

I have coloured the digi image with my Promarkers (and a few Copics) using the following colours:

Skin:  Copic E00, E11 and E21
Lips and Pink:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink.
Hair:  Walnut, Cocoa and Cinnamon.
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua.
Purple areas:  Purple, Amethyst and Orchid.
Green:  Bright Green and Lime Green.

The dies I have used come from the Cheery Lynn Reflection Boutique Mega Doily Mini Pearl Squares die.  As these dies come in half squares (you need to cut twice for a square) it's easy to make rectangles with them as well, so they are extremely versatile and create such pretty edges.  Even the tiny rectangle for the sentiment was created using the square set!

I've allowed the dies to dictate the size of the card as I obviously couldn't adjust them as much as I could the basic card, so it's not the biggest of cards, though could be bigger if required.

So it's just a square piece of white cardstock folded in half to form the base, and then matting and layering (inside as well) for the background.  And I've used a patchwork paper from Bearly Mine (link over in right sidebar).

The pink card is Papermania Textured cardstock and I've used that for the matting and for the flower, which was cut using the Cheery Lynn large rose die set.  The layers were fitted together with a purple brad from my stash.

The sentiment is just one of the silver foiled shop bought ones from my stash, as were the bright pink faux gems.

So, a nice simple and clean little card but, I think, really cute and pretty too.  Hope you like it!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Double Trouble - DT Card Challenge #3

Hi Folk!

Hope you're all ok and that you're having a great weekend?

Today's the start of challenge #3 over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog where the theme for this fortnight is Double Trouble!  That means we want to see lots of lovely projects which include two people, two animals or one of each having fun, up to mischief or having and adventure!  So a great fun challenge with many options for you to come up with more fabulous projects...and those in Challenge #2 were incredible!  AND the prize is $30 to spend at the Lacy Sunshine store and 2 digis to each of the Top Three (excluding retiring or precoloured digis).

This week Heather's came up with some fantastic digis which are now my absolute favourites.  They're extra special to me as the little lad featured in them is for my son, Jamie...hence the boy being called Jamie.  Heather's teamed Jamie up with her lovely Maddie who was a little bit of a homeless waif before but now she's got a fellow adventurer in Jamie so you'll be seeing a lot of them I think.  Last night, Heather released loads of new digis featuring the adventuresome duo, and I reckon they're going to be a big hit.  You can see some of them in the other Sunshine Girls' projects over on the challenge blog.  If you would like to purchase Heather's digis, they are ONLY available at the Lacy Sunshine store.  Anyone else selling any of Heather Valentin's digis is doing so illegally!

Anyway...enough waffle...here's my project:

The digi I've used in this one is called Jamie & Maddie - Dinosaur Discovery and is absolutely fabulous and so good to colour.  I've made this into an 8 x 8 card as the image is a biggy!  I really love this one as Jamie (the real one) is a real little fossil hunter and an absolute expert in all things prehistoric.  There is a set of Adventure Digi Bits (images to create a background) to go with these digis, but the other girls used them (brilliantly, I might add) so I decided to show that these digis look just as great without the Digi Bits.

I've coloured this using my Promarkers (and three Copics) as follows:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21
Darker brown areas:  Walnut, Cocoa and Caramel
Maddie's Hair:  Walnut, Cocoa and Cinnamon
Black areas: Black, Cool Grey 3 and 5
Green Khaki: Khaki and Olive Green
Eyes and Blue Bits:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Maddie's Hat (and other areas same colour) :  Caramel and Sandstone
Maddie's Outfit:  Cinnamon and Sandstone
Bones:  Putty and Almond
Brush Bristles:  Satin

Think that's all of them...sorry if I've missed any.

I asked Jamie what he'd like me to make and he wanted a card but he also wanted it to look like a scrap page, so that's what I've done.  He wanted me to pretend that the image was a real photo so I've made little photo corners to make it look like it had been stuck in an album.

The elements and papers I have used are from a kit called Dinoroar from Just So Scrappy (link over on right sidebar).  I didn't have time to print out and cut out all the letters, so I've created the wording digitally straight onto the backing paper and added some shadow.  The palm leaves are also from the same kit as the papers, so I've just printed them out, cut them out and used them for the embellies.   And that's it...my team card for Challenge #3.

I know one person who absolutely loves this card...my Jamie!  He thinks Heather's an absolute star for creating his digi.  There were quite a few different ones released in the Lacy Sunshine store so head over for a look...there are golfing ones, dancing ones, clown ones...  I love, love, love them.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

 http://challenges4everybody.blogspot.com.es/  - Anything Goes - 1st entry

http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/group/cmccopicchallengegroup - Anything Goes - 1st entry

http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/ - Something for a Child - 1st entry

Anyway...enjoy what's left of your weekend everyone.
Happy crafting!

Emily and the Bunnies - CAS

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and been behaving yourselves?

I have stuck a post above this one with some interesting reading.  Please scroll up if you'd like a look.

I've been soooo busy helping Heather out with converting digis, etc.  We're releasing some fabulous ones this weekend at the Lacy Sunshine store...really special and the DT have been having a lot of fun playing with them.  Their incredible projects will be featuring in our third challenge which will start on Sunday morning at 9m.  In the meantime, there's still plenty of time for you to enter the present challenge which has a theme of Favourite Colour Combos.  The challenge will close at 6 pm (British time) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, here's the card I've made today...a really simple but pretty Easter card.
Yes, it's another fabulous Heather Valentin digi featuring the lovely Emily and three adorable little bunnies.

I've coloured the image using the following Promarkers and Copics.

Hair:  Walnut, Cocoa and Cinnamon
Skin: Copics E00, E11 and E21
Lips and Pink:  Antique Pink and Baby Pink
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Purple bits:  Purple, Amethyst and Orchid
Bunnies:  Cool Grey 1, Cool Grey 2, Blender and Baby Pink
Parasol:  LE (Limited Edition) Frosted Leaf, LE Daffodil Bloom and LE Eggnog

Because this artwork doesn't need help to look fabulous, I've just backed it onto matt gold mirror card and then onto a piece of Hunkydory (don't know which set, sorry) card which has been matted onto more matt gold mirror card.  The inside is decorated to match.

6 purple faux gems and a couple of  flowers by Fizzy Moon and it's done!

Hope you like this CAS card?

Take care everyone & happy crafting!

JS Challenge DT Card - Layer It Up.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok?

Today's card is my DT card for the Joanna Sheen Challenge which starts today with the great theme of 'Layer it Up,' so we really want to see those layers!  The prize is a £15 voucher to spend at the Joanna Sheen online shop as well as a Winners blinky and Top Three blinky.  There's also the chance to be a Guest Design Team member!

So, here's my card:

We were all sent Joanna's House Mouse Vol 1 CD and had to pick our design from there.  They're all adorable so the choice wasn't easy, but eventually I went for this one because I loved the paper and delicate colours.  In this project I've only used the papers which go with the image and just layered them up with a matting card to match the lilacs from the image.

I created the sentiment on my lappy, and added a rose and leaves from Wild Orchid, some pearls from my stash and some corners which were part of a Christmas pressie from Paula Holifield.  The dragonflies were cut using a Doo Hickey die out of glitter card and I added some faux gems to give them a bit more life.

Hope you like this one and feel inspired to go and check out the challenge to see the other DT inspiration and join in with the challenge.

Take care everyone.
Happy crafting!

Eleanor - Clown - Easel Card.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok?  All busy at this end but have a card to blog today.  It's another Heather Valentin digi featuring Eleanor as a clown and it's so cute.  This digi, as well as all her others, are ONLY officially available from Heather's Lacy Sunshine store and anyone else selling them are doing so illegally and really should be ashamed of themselves as it's theft.

So, today I've used my elements slightly differently and used a square easel but put the layers at jaunty angles for interest.

The pink card was from my stash and the pink backing paper is from Bearly Mine.

The gorgeous edging around all the pink card layers was cut using my lovely Ebosser and my Cheery Lynn Reflections Boutique Mega Square Mini Pearl die...try saying that when you've had a few!

The other dies I have used (flowers) were the Cheery Lynn large and medium Rose dies and a Marianne leaf die.

I have also used some blue faux gems and pink metallic brads.

The sentiment was created on my lappie.

I have coloured Heather's fab digi in using my Promarkers with a little help of some skin coloured Copics:

Skin:  E00, E11, E21

Hair: Walnut, Cocoa and Caramel.

Eyes:  Marine, Turqouise and Cool Aqua.

Nose:  Crimson, Berry and Lipstick  Red.

Lips and Pink Areas:  Antique Pink, Baby Pink and Blender.

Blue Areas:  Cornflower, Blue Pearl and China Blue.

I have left an area to the left free so that I can add a number (age) when I need to use the card.

Anyone who has ever met Linda Simpson will be reminded of her when they see this card.  I think it's the red nose that does it!  Lol.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

DT Card for Lacy Sunshine's Challenge #2

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok on this lovely Sunday morning?  Why lovely?  Well because it's the start of a new challenge over at Lacy Sunshine, of course!  And this time we have another fab theme which is 'Favourite Colour Combo.'

Remember that you don't have to use a Lacy Sunshine digi to enter, but you will get two goes in the Random selector instead of just one per entry if you do.  All entries MUST contain a hand coloured digi or stamped image and be a finished product.  So...please shoot over to the http://lacysunshinechallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ to take a look at our fabulous Sunshine Girls inspiration!  They've all outdone themselves this week and I'm sure you'll agree that they've come up with great cards using Heather's digis.

Anyhoo...here's my card for Challenge #2:

I've used Heather's beautiful (one of my absolute favourits) Eleanor & Wanda digi for this card.  It's only available at her Lacy Sunshine store.  ALL of Heather's digis are ONLY available there officially.  Anyone else selling them or giving them away is doing so illegally.  Shame on them!

I've coloured this digi (did I tell you it was a favourite of mine) using my Promarkers and a couple of Copics as follows:

Skin:  Copics E00, E11 and E21
Hair: Caramel, Sandstone and Satin
Pink Bits: Antique Pink, Baby Pink and Blender
Lips: Antique Pink and Baby Pink
Eyes:  Marine, Turquoise and Cool Aqua
Purple Bits: Plum, Purple, Amethyst and Orchid
Wanda: Shale, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon and Caramel.
Bones on Boots: Putty

I have a few favourite colour combos but this time I've gone for brown, pink and just a touch of purple.

I've created the easel base using Supersmooth card cut using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 dies and the Labels 8 for the backing paper and image.  It's pretty tough cutting the double layer for the actual base, but having an Ebosser definitely helps!

I've used brown Core'dinations card and distressed it lightly for an aged effect.

I've used distress inks in Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo to distress the topper image (edges anyway) and the roses (from Wild Orchid...link in sidebar).  The bow is from my stash.  The sentiment reads 'I will love you forever and a day' and is an Anna Griffin stamp from a set.  The paper is from Kanbans Antique Tapestry kit.

And there you go...a fancy easel with Eleanor & Wanda.  Have to admit to hankering after a giant Wanda cuddly sitting on my bed.  She's adorable and I'm really hoping Heather will do more featuring her.  Jamie loves her and Waldo as well and he'd love them to be real!

So, head over to The Lacy Sunshine Challenge and join in the fun!  Oh...almost forgot to say...Heather's feeling generous so has decided to keep the prize at $30 to spend at her digi store!  How incredible is that? Not only that but Heather has also decided that the Top Three will get to choose 2 digis (not precoloured or retiring) from the store as well!  Yay!

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Reminder to Self!

Hi Folks!

Hope you're all ok and a little warmer than yesterday?

Just a short post today as I want to get on with some colouring, but I wanted to issue myself a reminder and that is that there are such things as A6 cards (always use square or shaped) and also you don't have to spend hours making a card...CAS (clean and simple) cards are gorgeous too!  So...I've reminded myself, lol.

There you go...not an embellishment in sight!

The image, sentiment and backing paper (there is one...very pale coloured with pale writing on it!) are both from Docrafts Wellington Sunny Days Collection CD, which is absolutely gorgeous.  I've had it for ages and don't think I've used it more than once, which is a shame as it's stunning.  I have become so tied up in spending hours and hours on one card that I've lost the idea of making quicker cards using beautiful artwork like this.  So...you're going to be seeing more of these amongst the cards I make which take much longer to make.

I love the CAS look and am always commenting on it on other peoples' blogs, so time I did more!

All I've used on this (apart from the Wellington CD) was some textured silver card and an A6 deckle edged card...and glue and foam pads, of course.  And that's it.

So I shall consider myself well and truly reminded and told off!  Lol.

So...as you were!

Take care everyone & happy crafting!
