Scribble and Scrap Challenge DT Card - Wee.

Morning everyone!

Long time now see...sorry.  I've been so busy but will be gradually getting back to normal in the next few months (I hope) but I will be a little quiet until then.  More news on that another time.

Anyway, today is the start of challenge #14 over at Scribble and Scrap and, as always, it's Anything Goes.

There is a £15 voucher for the randomly drawn winner (£20 if a Scribble and Scrap product has been used) and a £5 voucher for each of the Top Three.

Please check out all the rules over on the blog to make sure that you don't lose out on any of the prizes.

Anyway...here's my card.

I have used one of the gorgeous Wee toppers from The Hobby House for this one.  My printer's playing up and isn't liking printing in black and white so no colouring of digis for me this time around.

The papers I have used (4 different ones) are from my own (Scribble and Scrap's) Grungy Floral - Naturals Paper Set which, although I'm biased, I think is absolutely gorgeous.  The matching matting layer also comes from the set so that all layers match perfectly together.

The flowers were cut from one of the papers but the pattern doesn't show up clearly in the photo.  I used a Marianne die to cut those.

The inside is decorated to match.  The pearl brads are from The Hobby House and the clear faux gems are from my stash.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Don't forget to head over to The Scribble and Scrap Challenge to see some stunning inspirational projects from the rest of the DT.

Take care and happy crafting!

Scribble and Scrap Challenge #12 DT Card - Archie with a Flower

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok and surviving the absolutely horrendous weather.  We've been so lucky where we are but I really feel for those who are being hit hard again and again and again.  It's non stop this year.  Also thinking about all the millions of animals who will have been killed or who have lost their homes, especially the burrowing ones.  :o(

Anyway...it's challenge time again over at Scribble and Scrap.  As always it's Anything Goes and the random drawn winner will receive a £15voucher (£20 if they have used a Scribble and Scrap product!) to spend in the Scribble and Scrap shop, and the Top Three will receive a £5 voucher each.  Great prizes, especially with all the new papers I have been adding to the shop over the last week or two!  Not only that but there are two Archies (cute bear character) including one which is only just in the shop today...the one I have used for my card...he's my little guy and I had a lot of fun drawing him.

And on to my card:

Awww...isn't he cute?  Archie can be found here.

I coloured Archie with the following promarkers:

Cool Grey 1 & 3, Walnut, Cocoa, Sandstone and Blender.

My colouring's not all that this time as I had to use a different card which didn't blend so well.  I need to stock up on Supersmooth!  My bad!

As well as Archie, I have also used 3 papers from Scribble and Scrap's Lacy Florals Digital Paper Set as well as one of the matting colours from the same set to ensure the perfect match.

AND the sentiment is also from Scribble and Scrap - Basic Birthday Sentiment Digi Set

The brads are from The Hobby House, the flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid and the faux pearls are from my stash.

The inside is decorated to match.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

http://avenue613.blogspot.co.uk/  - Anything Goes - 23/2

Don't forget to pop over to Scribble and Scrap for the challenge and to see the rest of the DT's fabulous inspiraitional projects.

Meet Archie!

Hi everyone,

hope you're all ok?

I've been so busy creating papers and things for the shop and me and Dave have got together and came up with a new character.  We only have one digi ready so far but more will be following soon (ish).  :o)

Anyhoo...just made this card featuring Archie (who will be available in the shop in the next day or two) and some of the new papers.

Archie is now in the shop!

Isn't Archie just so adorable?  I'm absolutely in love with this little guy, but if he was real I'd have to fight Jamie for him as he loves him too.

I have used 5 of the papers from the Scribble and Scrap Valentine's Digi Paper Set.  I even used the papers to create the daisies which were cut using the Spellbinders Daisy Patch dies.

The large pearl brads are from The Hobby House, the faux pearls are from my stash and I created the sentiment on my lappy.

I coloured Archie using the following Promarkers:

Cool Grey 1 & 3, Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone and the blender.

The inside is decorated to match.

I'm pretty pleased with this card and will be entering it into the following challenges:

Scribble and Scrap Challenge #11 DT Project - Heart Shaped Box

Morning everyone!

Goodness...two posts in two days...I better watch I don't do myself a mischief!  :o)

Today is the start of Challenge #11 over at Scribble and Scrap and, as always, it's Anything Goes!  Yay!  See the blog for more information and the rules, which are on the Challenge Rules and Info page.  If you don't follow the rules you don't stand a chance of winning...simples.
The winner (drawn by Random.Org) will receive a £15 voucher (£20 if they have used a www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk product) and each of the Top Three will receive a £5 voucher to spend in the shop.

And here's my project

Yep...a box!  :o)

I've used a Silhouette cutting file to create this box and it was so simple to make but I wanted to do it to show off one of the papers I have been working on.  I have just added In the Pink Set 1 to the shop so head over for a nose.  They will shortly be available in a variety of colours and I will also be doing them in colour combos as well...so watch this space.

The ribbon and brad were from my stash and I used Joanna Sheen and Cheery Lynn dies to cut the flower and leaves...and that's it.

I would like to say there are chocolates in here but do you really think that they would remain uneaten by the time I'd set up the photo and done the shoot?  Nope...so I resisted the temptation.  :o)  You could put little love heart sweets in here...or even a ring!  How cute.

Looking forward to seeing all your wonderful projects in Challenge #11.  Good luck.

Take care and happy crafting!

Man Up! - A Little Bit Crafty Challenge

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and keeping warm and dry?

Today is the start of February's challenge over at Paula Holifield's A Little Bit Crafty Challenge and this month the theme is 'Man Up!' so we want lots of 'man' themed projects.

This month the challenge is sponsored by:

Visible Image
Set of 3 stamp sets

Ephemera pack
Set of 2 stamps

More information can be found over on the challenge.

Visible Image Stamps very kindly provided me with the Clayton Legend Stamp Set to use for this challenge...and here is my card:

Clayton really reminds me of my Jamie and this is the perfect card for Jamie as right now he's doing an online university course run by the University of Alberta on dinosaur paleobiology...even though he's only 7.5 years old.  He's 2/3 of the way through and loving ever second.  So he's certainly aiming high!

Both the image and the sentiments are from the Clayton Legend stamp set and I coloured the image using the following markers:

Copics:  E00, E11 and E21

Promarkers:  Pastel Blue, Denim, Midnight blue, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Crimson, Berry Red, Red,  Black, Cool Grey 5, 3 and 1.

I created the papers myself in colours to match the image.

The buttons were cut using a Memory Box die.

Good luck in the challenge everyone!

Take care and happy crafting!

Rose Trifold Card - Scribble and Scrap Challenge #10

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and having a good weekend?

Just been reading in the news about a nun having a baby...she didn't know she was pregnant.  I'm wondering if this means we're going to be having 2 Christmases from now on?  I'm just hoping that they're not going to be making a habit (get it???) of this or it'll be very expensive with all the pressies!  :o)

Today is the start of Challenge #10 over at Scribble and Scrap and, as always, it's Anything Goes!

Anyhoo...wanted to do something a little different this week so here is my card.

Yep...it's a tri fold card.  They're so easy to make and a lot of fun as well.

You can decorate them how you like, but for this one I just used two of the black and white papers I have designed and put the spotted paper on the forward facing sections and the striped papers on the sideways facing sections, but there are loads of options.

I wanted to keep this card mainly monochrome with just a splash of colour, which I have added in the form of the gorgeous Vintage Rose Bud 2 digi

I cut the rose out using a Spellbinders circular die before colouring it with the following Promarkers:

Crimson, Berry Red, Red, Forest Green, Bright Green, Lime Green and Cool Grey 1 (to outline).

The matting layer throughout is Papermania Black Textured Cardstock and the dies used were Spellbinders circles and scalloped circles.  The base card was cut using white Centura Pearl cardstock.

The dies are Joanna Sheen's Signature Butterflies and Dragonfly dies (they cut so beautifully!), and I finished off with some faux black gems.

And that's it...simples!  :o)

Hope you like my project.  Please head over to see the rest of the DT inspiration.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

A Little Bit Crafty - Celebrate - Midway Reminder

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok and getting back to normal after Christmas and the New Year.  Seems to take longer each year, doesn't it?

Anyway, I'm here with a mid challenge reminder for the current challenge over at A Little Bit Crafty
The theme this month is 'Celebrate' so lots of options to join in.

The sponsors this month are:

£15 voucher to spend at Scribble and Scrap

Petal Lu - £10 selection of blossoms
Find her on Facebook here

Ooh...I'm sponsoring it!  Yay!  :o)

Anyhoo...here's my card.

I fancied a change so have used a gorgeous topper by Wee from The Hobby House to create a pretty wedding card.

I created the papers on my lappy in various colours featured in the image and pink...just because I like it.  :o)

The sentiment was also created on the lappy...as was the matting layer.

The faux pearls and ribbon were from my stash and the die cut leaves were cut using the Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Rose Leaves which Joanna very generously sent me as part of my Christmas package.

The beautiful flowers were provided for us to use by the lovely Lucinda at Petal Lu who is also sponsoring the challenge this month.

Right...that's it.  Don't forget to pop over to Paula Holifield's  A Little Bit Crafty to check out the rules and join in the fun!  Good luck.

The Puglies - Horatio and Boris - Scribble and Scrap Challenge #9 DT Card

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and raring to go with the latest challenge over at Scribble and Scrap!

As always, it's Anything Goes so no reason not to enter, especially as from now on we're going to be giving a £5 voucher to spend in the shop to each of the Top Three winners as well as the £15 voucher (£20 if winner uses a Scribble and Scrap product) for the Random drawn winner.  Woohoo!

I will also be designing some new blog badges to go with our new look blog and shop, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

So head over and check out the DT's fabulous inspiration and go for it!
All the rules and information is on the blog so please read.

Anyhoo...here's my card.  A bit disappointed with this one.  I'm happy with the Horatio and Boris image and the papers but not happy with the embellies.  Either I'm going to have to go shopping for more dies suitable for blokies' cards or I'll have to start using my Cameo more!

I have used the following markers to colour the image:

Copics:  E00, E11 and E21

Promarkers:  Denim, Pastel Blue, Baby Pink, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Caramel, Sandstone, Marine, Tuquoise and Cool Aqua.

I created the papers myself using Denim and Pastel Blue so they match with the image.

The sentiment was created on my lappy.

The balloon dies are by Impression Obsession and the star dies are from Memory Box.

The inside is decorated to match.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

Today I'm just looking back at my 10 favourite cards from 2013.   It was quite easy to decide this time around, as I wasted a lot of time making stuff that I no longer like, so here we go.  In no particular order, here are my Top 10 Cards from 2013:

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Some of my friends have already started their Christmas so I'm putting this up a little early so I can catch them before their day is over and they're off to bed.

Some of my friends aren't going to have the best Christmas for various reasons and I want them all to know that our thoughts are with them and that we're sending lots of love and  hugs.

And some of my friends have only just began Christmas Eve...so hurry up and catch up you slow lot!  :o)

We're both ready and itching for it to begin.  I even wrapped the pressies yesterday so I didn't have to do that terrible (I hate it!) task tonight.  I made the mince pies (the best in the world from a fabulous recipe!) this morning and they are seriously yummy.  Good job I only got the right amount of ingredients or we'd have scoffed the lot by now!

Jamie did his job by delivering the neighbours' cards through their letter boxes earlier so now it's just chill, chill, chill all the way.

The vodka bottle will be attacked once Jamie is in bed and then it'll be an early night for me so that Santa doesn't catch me out.

And then when we wake up it'll be Jurassic Park Day!  Yay!  That's what Jamie's asked Santa for so I can guarantee they will all be played at least twice each tomorrow.  Jamie has been dying to see those films for years so it's going to be really special for him.  I will be spending most of my time hiding behind the sofa nibbling on mince pies.  :o)

We're going to have a lovely peaceful day with just the two of us but we're going to love every minute of it and I hope that all of you have a wonderful day as well.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Lots of love to each and every one of you.

Lexie and Jamie.

The Puglies - Ollie and Noel - Scribble and Scrap Challenge Card

Hi everyone!

Whoop, whoop...it's almost Jurassic Park Day!  Yay.  Jamie's so excited about Santa bringing him the Jurassic Park trilogy that he's forgotten what the other pressies he's asked for are.  I'm really looking forward to it...Baileys, scrummy home made mince pies and chocolate...perfect!  Hope you're all ready and have done all your shopping.

Anyway...it's the start of a new challenge over at Scribble and Scrap where the theme is, as always, Anything Goes!  Yay!  So no excuses...you must have plenty of Christmas cards to shove on there.

The card I've made features a brand new digi which can be found here.  It's one of The Puglies and it's Ollie and Noel building a snowman.  This was going to be a card for next Christmas but Jamie's decided he wants this one so I'll have to start again with my cards for 2014.

Looks like whatever naughty little Puglie threw that snowball is going to score a direct hit on poor old Ollie!

I've coloured this image using the following Copics and Promarkers:

Copics:  E00, E11 and E21

Promarkers:  Baby Pink, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Cool Aqua, Pastel Blue, Pine, Forest Green, Bright Green, Black, Cool Grey 1, 3 and 5, Spice, Ginger, Apricot, Cardinal Red, Berry Red and Red, Ivory...and the blender.

The image was very quick and easy to colour as well, which makes it a pleasure to use.

I've created the papers myself and colour picked Forest Green and Berry Red and used them with white.

Because the artwork for this one is quite large, I've kept the layout and embellishments very simple.  The pearls and brads are from my stash and I cut the snowflakes from white glitter card using Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment was created using my lappy.  The inside is decorated to match.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

The Puglies - Ronald

Hi everyone!

Wow...look at me go! Three cards blogged in two days! I've only just managed that many in a month for the last few months, lol.

Anyway, today's card features one of our brand new characters over at www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk - The Puglies.  The Puglies are a large family of smelly old scruffbag trolls who have high aspirations, hence their posh names.  These characters are original artwork produced by myself and the artist, Dave.  We're both working on them as Dave does the sketches and I produce the line art from those sketches and we're both coming up with lots of ideas and have a few more which will be ready to release soon.

This Puglie is Ronald and I have used him to make a card for (Ace)Andree's husband.  I have blocked out his name in the sentiment for privacy reasons.

Isn't he gorgeous?  I see a lot of blokes who look just like him around here.  :o)

I have coloured Ronald in using the following Promarkers:

Spice, Ginger, Apricot, Forest Green, Bright Green, Lime Green, Tea Green and Grey Green, Baby Pink, Cool Grey 1 and 3.

The flesh is coloured using Copics E00, E11 and E21

Not only is the image a Scribble and Scrap  digi but I also designed the papers to compliment the colours used in the image...Spice and Apricot with Grey Green matting layers.  I have used four different papers in this design. These papers (and others) will be available at Scribble and Scrap  in the near future.

I created the sentiment on my laptop and it reads:

"The best thing about golf for ****** was getting away from Andree's nagging!"    It's ok...Andree lives a long way from here so I'm safe!  :o)

As this is a card for a blokey, I've arranged the layers so that the layout, papers and image do all the work without having to add frou frou apart from 4 bits of card candi which just happen to match very nicely with the Tea Green used in the image!  Perfect.  The inside is decorated to match.

I hope you like Ronald and the other Puglies as we have lots of ideas for them and I think they're great fun.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

http://avenue613.blogspot.co.uk/  - Anything Goes (opt CAS) - 22 Dec

http://challenges4everybody.blogspot.co.uk/ - Anything Goes - 21 Dec

http://herecometheboysblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ - Anything Goes - 5 Jan

Right, on with some more work!

Take care and happy crafting!

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Make it Sparkle - Halfway Reminder - and Some Sad News

Morning again!

Not often I do two posts in one day but that's how it's worked out this time.

We're back for a midway reminder over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and Paula's hosting the second half of this challenge.  Not only that but she also has some very sad news for you.  In brief, this is the last challenge as the decision has been made to close it down. There is more information over on the blog.  We're all very sad about this as we've loved being part of the team and it's been such a wonderful challenge to be part of.  It's been so great having you all joining in with the fun and I've loved visiting your blogs.  Thank you all so much for your support over the last couple of years.  It's been a wonderful journey...but all good things come to an end eventually.  :o(

Anyhoo...here's my final card for the Joanna Sheen Challenge
(please pass the tissues).

Well...I just had to use the little House Mouses for my last card, didn't I?

I coloured this gorgeous image using the following promarkers:

Cool Grey 1 & 3, Cinnamon, Caramel, Sandstone, Blush, Tea Grey, Grey Green, Baby Pink and Antique Pink.

I have added sparkle to the steam coming from the yummy cocoa using glitter.

I have used the Christmas Wishes paper collection (love it!) from Bearly Mine Designs and matted that on to pink card which I printed to match the baby pink promarker.

I printed the sentiment and cut the Memory Box Precious Mittens out of the same pink card.

A few little bits of card candy finish it off.

The inside is decorated to match.

Do pop over to the challenge to join in for one last time.  We'd really love to see your projects.  And leave us a comment to let us know how much you've appreciated the wonderful DT creations and all Paula's work over the last two years.

Take care everyone and happy crafting!

A Little Bit Crafty Challenge - Christmas Cheer - Midway Reminder

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok?

Today is the midway reminder over at Paula Holifield's A Little Bit Crafty Challenge where the theme is Christmas Cheer.

The sponsors for this challenge are:

 7 free digis

  5 digi images

For this challenge I've put forward a selection of quick little cards that I've put together to dish out to my neighbours.

For these I used the gorgeous Wee toppers from The Hobby House and matted them onto red card from my stash.  I then used a dotty embossing folder to emboss some plain white card and matted that onto the red card as well...and then layered all this onto a 5 x 5 scallop card.  The sentiments are from my stash and have been layered onto more of the red card.  The addition of a mini red bow finishes them off.  The inside was decorated to match.

Hope you find time to pop over and join us in the challenge.

Take care and happy crafting!
