Morning everyone!

Now that I am happy and settled here on Dinosaur Island, it's time to really get back into this crafting and blogging malarky and I am on a mission!

It is my aim to get to 500 followers as soon as I can.  As you can see, I'm a long way off that amount of followers yet but with a little bit of briber...I mean, candy, I'm hoping to hit that number in no time at all! And if you're going to offer candy then I reckon you should make it worthwhile, so I'm offering:

Yep...that's a £50 voucher to spend on any of our incredible and ever growing range of products at

Our range includes fabulous brands such as Joanna Sheen, The Hobby House, Craftwork Cards, Sue Wilson Dies, My Favourite Things Die-Namics, Wild Rose Studio, my own Scribble and Scrap Crafts range, Creative Expressions and many more.

This candy is open to anyone and everyone wherever you are in the world and whether you're a new or old follower.  All you need to do is follow the rules very closely as laid out below.

1.  Place the image above into your blog sidebar and link it back to this blog post.

2.  Ensure that you are following this blog.

3.  Enter the draw using the linky tool below using your blogger name.

4.  Leave a comment beneath this post.

5.  Only one entry each please.

6.  Spread the word far and wide because the sooner I have 500 followers, the sooner one lucky winner will be spending the £50 voucher in my Scribble and Scrap Crafts shop.

The winner will be drawn by Random.Org once we have reached 500 followers.

Good luck everyone!

Take care and happy crafting!

NJB Cybele & Kaida DT Card - Challenge #34

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok and ready for Santa...that is, of course, if you've been nice and not norty!  :o)

We're all ready and so excited about our first Christmas on the island.  We were hoping to be able to go fossil hunting in the morning but the tide's wrong and we'd get wet so will find somewhere we've not been before for a nice walk...if it's not chucking down.

We had a fabulous fossil walk last Sunday.  There was only me, Jamie and another lady with Steve to lead us and we learned so much about the geology of Yaverland.  We didn't find a great deal but did come back with a whopper of a fossilised, ancient oyster AND I found the most beautiful ammonite imprint.  It was only small but absolutely perfect.  Unfortunately, it was in soft clay and it would have destroyed it to have brought it home so we left it there.  It's survived at least 65 million years and I didn't want to be the one to destroy it.  Steve passed the Jamie test so we're booked to go again on the 29th.  Can't wait.

Anyway...it's time for Challenge #34 over at Scribble and Scrap where, as always, it's Anything Goes!

There are two chances to win a £10 voucher (Random Drawn and Selected) so well worth joining in the fun.  All the information is on the blog.

And here's my card.

Not quite sure what I think of this one.  My mojo has deserted me and this was the best I could come up with so it'll have to do.  It's ok...just not 'me.'

I have used the following products available at Scribble and Scrap

Sweet Pea Stamps - Norma J Burnell - Fairy Tangles Cybele and Kaida Rubber Stamps
Flowers and Brads - Purples
First Edition - Love Letters - 8x8 Paper Pad

The matting card, gems, feathers and leaves are from my stash.

I used Spellbinders to cut the layers and easel base.  I have created a tutorial (using a different die but same method) here.

I have used the following Promarkers to colour the image:

Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Marine, Turquoise, Cool Aqua, Ice Grey 1, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Forest Green, Bright green, Lime Green, Pink Lobster, Tropical Orchid, Peony, Pineapple Crush, Daffodil Bloom and Eggnog.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Moon Owl - Challenge #33 Reminder DT Card

Hi everyone!

Hope you're having a fab weekend?

I'm hoping that this (and the challenge post...yikes!) go as scheduled as we're off on a fossil hunt with the Dinosaur Isle museum this morning.  Yay!  Really, really excited.  I'm getting into all this stuff as much as Jamie is.  We went on our own during the week (twice!) and I found two bits of bone and I knew they were bone as well.  Very proud of myself.  Jamie just ran around pretending he was a Baryonyx!  :o)

Anyway, this is a DT card for the midway reminder for Challenge #33 over at Scribble and Scrap where the theme is, as always, Anything Goes!

And here's my card:
Not happy with the photo for this one.  In reality, the colours on the owl are darker.  It really didn't want to play nicely for the pics, though.  It doesn't look like the background's coloured either, but I've gone for the sunset look and it's quite pretty in the flesh...

I have used the following products from Scribble and Scrap to create this card:

The matting card is Core'dinations from my stash
I used a Joanna Sheen Signature Die to cut the lace border.

Promarkers used are as follows:

Grey Green, Tea Green, Fresh Bloom, Pink Mittens, Orchid, Spring Lilac, Plum Preserve, Ginger, Amber, Satin, Sandstone and Caramel.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Another Wee Christmas Card

Good moaning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and keeping warm.

We've been having such a fabulous time this week.  At the weekend we met a guy on the beach who really gave us a lot of information about that area and also half a dozen small pieces of fossil bone which were very different from each other which will be a huge help to us.  There are so many brilliant people on the island...best place to live ever!  We've also had a lovely walk at Ventnor and made several visits to the Dinosaur Isle Museum to take photos and draw pictures (or try to!) of some of the exhibits so we can learn more.

Anyway...we have CANDY!  If you go to the Scribble and Scrap Facebook Page
you will find a post with a gorgeous Norma J Burnell up for grabs.  The candy closes at midnight on Wednesday and the winner will be selected by Random.Org and announced on Thursday morning.  To enter you need to:

1/ Make sure you are liking the page AND post and have the notifications turned on.

2/ Leave a comment on the post.

3/ Share this post all over FB and make sure you tell people to come here to like, comment and share or I won't know they've entered!

You must do all three things.  If you do not leave a comment on the post you won't be entered into the candy as I take the names from there and give them a number according to their position in the 'comments' and run it through Random.Org.

Good luck!

Anyway...I've been making Christmas cards!
I'm following a theme this year of just using white card red card for the backgrounds and just playing with the shape, etc.  I'm sure you'll have noticed with my last few cards.

It's good fun using the same materials and just trying different things with them.

For this card I have used the following products available at Scribble and Scrap

I have used Spellbinder Dies to cut the circles/scalloped circles out of cardstock from my stash.
The inside is decorated to match.  The scalloped edged card base is A6.
Hope you like the little guy.
Don't forget you have until 6pm Saturday to get your entries into our current

Wee Cozy Christmas Easel Card - Midway Reminder Challenge #32

Good moaning Peeps!

Hope you're all well and having a fab weekend?
We've been having a great time...2 fossil hunts at Yaverland this week (may go this morning too), 2 visits to Dinosaur Isle Museum and one visit to the Isle of Wight Zoo.  Love this place soooo much.

Found a few interesting things on the beach...2 bits of rock with some gorgeous little tiny fossils and imprints of gastropods and other little critters who were alive around 120 million years ago.  Fabulous.  Also found a lovely bit of fossilised wood which has masses of iron pyrite (fool's gold) all over it, and a couple of little bits of dinosaur bone.  :o)

Anyway...today is the midway reminder for Scribble and Scrap Challenge #32, which is, as always, Anything Goes!  Yay!

If you pop over to the blog you can see what the other girls have come up with as well.

Mine's a quick card this week (too busy fossil hunting and studying the Dino 101 course) but it's a cutie!

Keep Crafting!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all ok?  Very wet and windy here on the island but you should see the sea at high tide...it's fabulous!  We've had a few good storms as well...so beautiful.

Anyway...quick post today.  I have been playing with my Cameo and created a cutting file to come up with this little wall hanging thingummyjig.

As you can see, this hanger is being modelled by Jamie's new friend who goes by the name of
Chris Moose.  :o)  He hopes that he doesn't look too fierce...he was aiming for a jovial look but is new to the modelling game.

The hanger does look better in real life as you can see the decoupaging more.  There is a lot of dimension to it with foam pads between the layers but this doesn't show in the photo, unfortunately, and Chris Moose thought that I should concentrate more on making him look like a star, which I think I have achieved.  :o)

and Centura Pearl, pink card, ribbon and teeny faux pearls from my stash.

And that's it...simples!

Take care and happy crafting!

Remembering Those Left Behind

Hi everyone!

Hope you're ok?

Today, in the run up to Remembrance Day, I thought that I would remember and pay tribute to those left behind.  The men, women and children who lost their loved ones and who had to go on through the decades without them.  That must have been so hard.  So many women lost men they loved..their husbands, brothers...sons.  So many children lost their fathers...and men lost their wives, sons and daughters as well.  So many people who had to go on through their lives without someone who had been so important to them.  I always think of little John whose tiny, simple headstone I used to walk past in the cemetery at Wallasey - 4 years old and 'killed by enemy action.'   John would have been almost 80 now.  He would have built up a whole life of memories and adventures...but war took that all away from him.  Heartbreaking.  But he's still remembered as every year a man goes round that cemetery putting poppies on little crosses on all the war graves...and John gets his too.  Oops...go away tears!

We were lucky in my family.  No one in my direct line has been lost in war as far as I am aware...certainly no one in the World Wars or since.  My great grandfather and his sons did have a few dodgy moments at sea but they came through when so many didn't.

So, remembering all who were left behind...

A simple yet, I hope, elegant card in tribute to those who faced years of heartache and loss.

For this card I have used:

I also used black card and gems from my stash and a red rose from WOC.
The sentiment was created on my lappy and the leaves were cut using a Joanna Sheen Signature Die.

Here's to all of you who have lost a loved one...be it during war or peace.
Big hugs.

My First Ppinkydolls Card - Lilith

Hi everyone!

I'm so chuffed as finally I have made time to colour and create with my very first PpinkyDolls  image and she's so cute!  Chrishanthi is such a talented lady and these images are so much fun to colour and use.  Jamie's in love with the little doggy in this one.  He has a huge thing about teeny weeny dogs and they don't come teenier than this one.  This gorgeous image is called Lilith.

I have coloured this image using the following Promarkers:

Walnut, Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Turquoise, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Warm Grey 1, Blender.

I used Spellbinders dies to create the easel base, layers and to cut and layer the topper.

I used the following products which are available in my shop, Scribble and Scrap Crafts
The pink cards is from my stash.  The white flowers are from WOC.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Noir Chic Lillibet

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great week?  We've been having some incredible weather down here on Dinosaur Island.  Long may it last.

Today I have had a little play around with a First Edition paper set which I've not used before.  It's the First Edition Noir et Chic 6x6 Paper Pad.

This paper pad looks black and white in the official images but is, in fact, black and yellow and is really, really pretty.

I teamed it up with the Lillibet Embrace Clear Stamp and some flowers cut from the Noir et Chic papers using the Die-Namics Upsy Daisy Die Set

I love this image...it's so cute and easy to colour and very, very reasonably priced too!

I have used the following Promarkers for this image:

Blender, Ice Grey 1,3 and 5, Cool Grey 1, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Satin, Ivory, Antique Pink, Baby Pink, Raw Sienna, Tulip Yellow, Buttercup, Caramel, Sandstone, Pineapple Crush, Daffodil Bloom and Eggnog.

I have also used some black card and black faux gems from my stash.  The rest of the products (and lots more) are available in my shop at Scribble and Scrap Crafts

Don't forget that we have a 5 Day Deal on the Craftwork Cards products in the shop.  There's 10% off when you use the code Craftwork10 at checkout.  The offer ends at 9am on Friday or when stocks run out.

Take care and happy crafting!

And now on to Challenge #30 (where on earth does the time go?) over at Scribble and Scrap Crafts

More information can be found on the blog but basically it's an Always Anything Goes challenge, runs for a fortnight and there are two winners prizes (one Random drawn and the other selected) of £10 of vouchers each to be spent on any of the products in my Scribble and Scrap Crafts shop.

Ok...on with my card and I have to admit to being more than just a little bit proud of this one.  I had the papers picked out and the layout planned in my head.  Yesterday, I spent 4 hours handstitching the layers (I did inside as well) which was really relaxing but not something I'll be doing all the time, lol.  But it was well worth all the effort for this card as I absolutely love it.  I know I've said it before, but this is by far the best card I have ever made (in my opinion), although the photos don't quite do it justice.  It's a little softer and more feminine in the flesh and feels so luxurious.  Why does paper pricking make card and paper feel like really high quality, soft leather?

Anyway...here it is:

Waddyafink?

This is a sneaky peek at one of the new Sweet Pea Stamps rubber stamps which will be in the shop in a few weeks time.  It's by Norma J Burnell and is called 'Fairy Tangles - Guardian of the Meadow.'  Isn't it absolutely fabulous?  Can you see the little pink and brown bird on her shoulder and the little pink ladybirds on her hair?  So cute?

I really made this one difficult on myself because I was determined to make it fit in with the papers colourwise so I was really restricted with the Promarkers I could use.  Right until the last few minutes I was thinking that it was likely to end up in the bin, but then it came together right at the very end, so if you're colouring one of these images and thinking it's not looking right, keep going...it will come together.  I've not done that great a job of colouring this one but it'll do me and I'm happy with how it works as a completed card.

The items I used which are available in the shop are:

and the stamp will be available in the shop shortly.

From my stash I have used some pink card, light brown thread and silver corners from WOC.

The base is a 7x7 scalloped edged card blank.
I have cut little leaves for the flowers out of the stripey backing paper offcuts using a Joanna Sheen Signature Die set.

The inside is decorated to match.

I used the following Promarkers to colour the image:

Walnut, Cocoa, Caramel, Sandstone, Satin, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink, Antique Pink, Pine, Forest Green, Bright Green, Almond, Cocktail Pink, Rose Pink, Dusky Pink, Blossom and the Blender.

All I can say is thank god it worked!  Hugely relieved after all that effort and stress, lol.  Don't expect all that work every time...back to my normal rubbish for my next card.  :o)

I shall be entering this card into the following challenges:
